Announcing the recipient of the inaugural Melodic Minors volunteer Scholarship: Ryan Tant
Melodic Minors is pleased to announce the receipt of our inaugural Melodic Minors Volunteer Scholarship, Ryan Tant. Ryan has been volunteering with Melodic Minors since November 2018 and plays euphonium, tuba, and trombone. He has found a deeper connection to his art from through his service with the organization. “Melodic Minors has given me an additional feeling of importance with my musicianship, making me realize the lasting impact of each performance, and teaching me the greater mission of my playing,” he says. This fall he will be attending Winthrop University as a music education major, where he hopes to grow in his musicianship and inspire others through music.
Melodic Minors initiated the Volunteer Scholarship earlier this year to encourage a continued commitment to leadership and service through music as our volunteers progress through college and beyond. In its inaugural year, this $1000 scholarship for the purpose of advancing musical studies was awarded to a dedicated senior volunteer who demonstrated outstanding commitment to the musical arts and a passion for serving the community around him. Ryan has fulfilled all of these qualifications. He was awarded the scholarship back in May at our year-end volunteer thank you bowling party. We thank Ryan for his service and wish him the best of luck in his next adventures.
